Sunday Snapshot [SAG Awards 2014]

There was nothing exciting this week to put in my Sunday Snapshot. So instead, I thought I would share some of my favorite (and least favorite) looks from the SAG Awards red carpet last night!

1. HIT - Sandra Bullock in Lanvin & Fred Leighton
I'll start with my favorite, Sandra, in this absolutely gorgeous shimmery green gown.  I wasn't too fond of the color-blocked Prabal Gurung dress she wore to the Golden Globes, so I was really excited to see her in this.  The color is perfect and the slit shows off her amazing legs.

2. HIT - Sofia Vegara in Donna Karen Atelier
Let's be honest, Sofia Vegara always kills it on the Red Carpet.  She is stunning and has an amazing figure.  Even if she wore a trash bag, she would still end up on every best dressed list.  I love how this dress is a little different from what she typically wears.  The beading is beautiful and so is this look.

3. MISS - Giuliana Rancic in Basil Soda
I usually always love what Giuliana wears, but I was a little disappointed in this dress.  The only thing I like about it, is the color.

4. IRDEK(I REALLY DON'T EVEN KNOW) - Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior
I love the dress from far away.  But up close, it doesn't look as beautiful and expensive.  I don't hate it.  But at the same time, I don't love it.  Although she has been doing amazing collecting awards, her red carpet looks haven't been so great.

5. MISS - Kerry Washington in Prada & Harry Winston
I love the idea of this outfit, but it just really doesn't work.  The top is beautifully beaded, but it doesn't go great with that skirt.  Simply, it's unflattering.

6. HIT - Renee Bargh in Steven Kahlil
Renee Bargh donned a beautiful gown by Australian designer, Steven Kahlil.  The color is amazing and I love how the lace overlays the top of the dress.  Her simple hair and makeup beautifully complement the dress.

7. MISS - Clair Danes in Vionnet, Jimmy Choo & Forevermark Diamonds
It literally looks like Clair is wearing pieces of four different dresses.  I really wish it was just one of the four different fabrics.

8. HIT - Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi
I love the color and shape of this gown.  The cut is really unique and flattering.  I also really love the belt.

9. HIT - Elizabeth Moss in Michael Kors
This dress is just really great.  The color, the cut, everything is just great.

10. MISS - Cate Blanchett in Givenchy & Chopard
Oy vey.  I don't know what to say except that it looks like she has a napkin tucked into her collar.

Sunday Snapshot [1.4.2014]

Happy 2014!

2013 was filled with so many great memories!  However it was also filled with many long nights of studying, meltdowns over college, and some decisions that maybe weren't the best.
There were many firsts, and many lasts.
It was the first time I traveled to Europe and met new friends.
It was the last time I had a real summer, first day of high school, and Christmas season at home.  It was also the last time I was considered a kid.

2013 was a really weird time for me.  I've grown so much within the past year.

But I'm really looking forward to see what 2014 has in store!

So for this 'Sunday Snapshot', I thought I would share in pictures how I spent my last few weeks of 2013!

My best friend (aka the next Cake Boss) made me an amazing cake for my eighteenth birthday!

Acceptances from two more colleges!

The ushe: just some Netflix and ice cream.

My Christmas OOTD.

Me and my sister on Christmas.

Ringing in the New Year with my two best friends from preschool!

Have a great Sunday!

Sunday Snapshot [12.29.13]

I literally just remembered it was Sunday and figured I had to write a 'Sunday Snapshot' post since I haven't updated on here in awhile!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I definitely did!
I've really been enjoying my winter break by relaxing, netflixing, and seeing friends and family that I don't often see!  Although it has been going by way too fast!
Can you believe this is the last weekend of 2013?
To say this year went by fast would be an understatement.  I'm looking forward to New Year's Eve as I spend it with my family friends from pre-school every year.

Here are just a few pictures from my week off!

What are your NYE plans?

Sunday Snapshot [12.15.2013]

Hi!
It's been a little while since I've blogged on here.
But I'm really hoping that with winter break next week, I'll be able to create a schedule to stick to!

In the meantime, I'll quickly share a little about what I've been up to and some really great links!

So I don't think I've said anything about this here yet…but I was accepted into two of the colleges I applied to!  Although they weren't my first choice, it's great to know that I'm at least going somewhere next year!  This week I hear back from a college that's up on my list so my fingers are crossed!

This Billy on the Street from Funny or Die with Amy Poehler making New Yorkers sing Christmas carols is actually the funniest thing I've seen in a long time!  I literally couldn't stop laughing out loud.

Really love this article about friendships from The College Prepster.  It really makes me feel so much better about those lost friendships at such a weird point in my life.

Speaking of The College Prepster, Carly wrote an amazing Prep Talk today about focusing on the good.  Again, it couldn't have come at a better time.
Obsessed with this quote now: "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow." - Hellen Keller

I turned 18 on Friday!  I finally hit adulthood!  And no, I don't feel like an adult at all.
It's weird to think that I'm legal!

I'm really trying to enjoy senior year as much as possible.  It's crazy how quickly this year is going by.  Christmas is next week already!  Like what?

I'm really excited for the Christmas and the chance to just breathe for a few days.

I hope you all have a wonderful Monday!
When you are struggling to get through your Monday tomorrow…just think about how close Christmas is!

Sunday Snapshot [11.10.13]

Happy Sunday!

This weekend I went on a little road trip to Virginia for a college visit with my best friend.
Although it was a six hour drive, having her there made the time fly by!
We spent hours catching up, singing along to our favorite songs, and snacking.

I spent today 'recooping' and getting ready for school tomorrow.
Unfortunately my English teacher gave us a paper to write over the four-day weekend.
So I'll most likely be doing that tonight.  Wahh.  Do you have any remedies for senioritis?

Picturesque James Madison campus

Happy birthday Lilly!

Look at those legs.  Like can I be her?

So maybe I kind of need this?

Sunday Snapshot [11.3.13]

Guess who finally finished all their college applications?
Yes - this girl right here!  Last night I submitted my last application!!
I keep reading that sentence over and over again because I just can't believe it.
I stayed up until 5:30am Wednesday night finishing all my apps with November 1st deadlines.
I don't know how, but I did!  The only explanation I can think of is mind over matter!

Last weekend I attended Fashion PR Confidential (I'll have a post up about it this week!) and had an incredible time! Communications/Public Relations is what I'm thinking about studying in college so this was a great experience to learn more about it!

November just really snuck up on me.  I can't believe October is already over!  It was without a doubt, probably the busiest month of my life.  Between college visits, college applications, school work, and other little events...I don't know how I got through it.

But I'm really excited for November.
I have a three day week this week due to teacher conventions so I'm definitely grateful for that!
I'm going to visit another college this weekend with my best friend, which should be a lot of fun!

Then I have two more weeks of school to get through before Thanksgiving break!  How crazy is that?  I'm looking forward to yummy food and of course crazy Black Friday shopping!

Then it's basically December!
But now I'm getting way ahead of myself...

Here's a little list of things I've seen and found within the past few weeks!

PurseBlog posted this great article this week about the whole Barney's situation.  I spent about a half hour reading the comments regarding incidents readers had in similar situations.  It's so interesting to hear other's experiences in situations where they were treated poorly based on how they look and dress!

- I got an email from this random online boutique last week and actually fell in love with the jewelry section!  They have great statement necklaces that look like they could be from J.Crew....yet they are just a fraction of the price!

- In our little gift bags at Fashion PR Con we were there was a nail polish from Pretty Please.  I'm officially obsessed and will be gifting all my friends these polishes for the holidays!

Okay can we please address & celebrate the red holiday cups at Starbucks now?  And of course I had to insta a picture.  It's like a rule.
- Speaking of holidays, someone tweeted this picture yesterday with this link...already marked my calendar as busy basically every night.

Sunday Snapshot [10.20.13]

So remember last week when I said I was going to be regularly posting again...?
LOL that didn't happen.
But I've specifically put time aside today to pre-write some posts so hopefully they will all go up this week!

Here are just a few pictures I feel apply perfectly to my life right now.
Already trying to mentally prepare myself for Monday.

As ridiculous as this sounds...it's true!

#myliferightnow

As soon as I'm done with college apps, I've decided I'm having a girly movie marathon!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Sunday Snapshot (on Monday!) [1.14.2013]

It has been quite a while since I've been on here.

So I'm just going to do a little recap and hopefully get back to posting regularly this week!

College applictions and senior year have been completely consuming my life for the past month.
I finally took my last SAT last week - so relieving!

Then this past weekend I went to visit the University of South Carolina!  We left Friday and drove the long (read: 13 hour) car ride.  But it was well worth it.
It was absolutely beautiful and I can't imagine how amazing it must be to go to school on such a picturesque campus.  We were lucky enough to go while the South Carolina State fair was in Columbia so we went Saturday night and saw Hunter Hayes in concert!
He is literally the cutest thing and an amazing performer!

We made the trek back home yesterday.  When I got home I ate dinner, took a quick nap, and got to work on college apps.  I submitted my first application last night!!!!  Honestly one of the most nerve-wrecking moments of my life.  My hand was literally shaking when I pressed the submit button.  Now the waiting period is going to be torturous...

Luckily, we have off today for Columbus Day so today I'm trying to catch up with homework and studying.  And maybe [definitely] do some online shopping with all these sales.  Maybe.

But I just wanted to post a quick little update so that I can start tomorrow with my regular posts!

Talk to you tomorrow!
xoxo

Sunday Snapshot [9.15.13]

This week was insane.
The first week of school is always the hardest.
Like it's my senior year of high school and I was expecting my classes to be chill with like little homework...but boy was I wrong.
I don't think I've ever had more homework and assignments in my life.
And this school homework with SAT homework and working on college applications combined makes me want to cry.

So as you can expect, I haven't been keeping up with NYFW as much as I hoped to.
Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow after my SAT class and homework to raid Style.com's pictures.
In the mean time, these 3 minute videos have been just enough to satisfy my Fashion Week craving.

Happy Sunday!

Sunday Snapshot [8.11.13]

Happy Sunday! (or almost Monday)
I spent my Sunday at the outlet center in Pennsylvania, starting a little back to school shopping.
Yes, back to school shopping.  It makes me cringe too.

But it's still summer.
Last night I had the ideal summer night at the Kenny Chesney concert at MetLife Stadium.
It was absolutely amazing!

It was a great night of good music and good fun.

Have a great week!

Sunday Snapshot {6.9.13}

Happy 2nd birthday blog!

I started this blog two years ago when I was just about to finish freshman year of high school and now I'm almost done with my junior year.
I can't even express how much I've grown and how much as changed.  It's crazy to think how different everything can be only two years later.
Through blogging I've been able to share my thoughts and meet great people with similar interests.
I'm excited to continue this little hobby of mine and see where it goes!

Sunday Snapshot [5.12.13]

I can't believe Sunday is over already.
The weekend always goes by way too fast.  I'm so not ready for Monday to roll around again.
I have so much going on at school this week, so I've spent the whole day trying to mentally prepare myself for that.  Other then that, I can't wait for Memorial Day Weekend to begin!
[11 more days until that weekend just incase you were wondering!]
Here are some of my favorite pictures this week!

2013 Met Gala - definitely a highlight of the week!  It's my favorite red carpet to watch!

I had my last Saturday class at FIT yesterday.
I'm going to miss all the new friends I made and being in the city every weekend!

All I want is to go to a summer music festival where I can wear a floral headband.

Actually really needed to read this list this week.

Have a wonderful week!
xoxo

Sunday Snapshot {Happy Cinco de Mayo!}

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
...Or as many call it, Cinco de Drinko!
It's the perfect excuse to have some fruity drinks or ice cream with friends and sit outside to welcome in the spring weather.
Hopefully it's warm and sunny where you are, so you can fully enjoy the holiday.
I was in New York City last night and people were already getting into the spirit with sombreros and colorful drinks in hand.  So whatever you're doing today, make sure you set aside some time for a little treat.
Here's a few pictures to get you into the spirit!

How cute are these no bake Margarita Cheesecakes!?

Do you know how to make salsa?  If not check out this video!
Your friends will definitely be impressed when you tell them it's not from the jar.

Fruit salsa and cinnamon chips...sounds delicious!
Recipe here!

Colorful drinks like this watermelon margarita are essential!

However you're spending your Cinco de Mayo, I hope your Sunday is great!

Sunday Snapshot [1.24.13]

This week went by way too fast.
Let me rephrase that: this whole month went by way too fast!
Friday is March 1st.  But since when?
I'm really looking forward to Spring though!  This horrible weather is getting old and tired and I just want bright nails and sandals already!
I so enjoyed having this week off, and am not so excited to return to school tomorrow.
But there are only 4 weeks until spring break.  So the countdown beings...
In the mean time, here's what my week looked like!

The beautiful Syracuse University campus.

Crowded room at Terminal 5.

Cal of Timeflies.

Can never leave the city without Baked by Melissa!

Have a great week!

Sunday Snapshot [12.23.12]

It's finally Christmas weekend and I couldn't be more excited!
Today I'm going to the mall to pick up a few last minute gift cards and then I'll be all ready for the holidays!
On Christmas Eve we always make a bunch of cookies so I'm also hitting the gym today for the pounds of cookies I'll eat tomorrow.
But I can't wait to bake cookies (well more excited to eat them!) with my sister and grandma tomorrow!  I'll also be watching a bunch of Christmas movies tomorrow night.
So in preparation for the holiday, here are some songs/movie clips to get you into the spirit!

The Year Without a Santa Clause
I have to watch this every year.  It's my absolute favorite Christmas cartoon!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays - N'Sync
Merry Christmas from my all time favorite boy band!

Elf
Mandatory to watch at least 10 times during the holiday season

What are your favorite holiday movies and music?

Sunday Snapshot [12.16.12]

I had so many posts that I wrote to put up this week but I guess I forgot to schedule them...whoops!
I promise I'll post them this week!
This week was super crazy!  Between school and my birthday (I turned 17 and got my license!), there was hardly any down time.
Now there is only one week standing in between me and winter recess!
I'm super excited for Christmas and can't wait for the holiday break from school!

This week I'm going on a field trip to NYC for one of my classes which is really exciting!  I haven't been on a field trip for school in years so it's defiantly a treat!  It's for my interior design class so we're going to a design firm, The New York Design Center,  FIT, and a few other stops.

I went into the city yesterday and saw the tree in Rockerfeller Center and the Fifth Avenue window displays!  I love NYC during Christmas time.  It's such a magical place!

And as I'm writing this post, I'm taking a break from writing my paper for English.  We have to write an abstract definition for a word, and the word I chose  is friendship.  I'm having a really difficult time writing it though. I know what I want to say however am having trouble putting it into words in a logical way that makes sense.
(kind of like this post...sorry it's all over the place!)

Anyway, I'm pretty much all done with Christmas shopping and am so excited to give everyone their presents!  Just one more week to get through before the holidays everyone!
We can do it!

What will you guys be doing this week?

Whatever you'll be doing, hope you have a great week!
xoxo

Sunday Snapshot [12.9.12]

I can't believe how it's December already.  It seems like this year went by so fast!
I'm super excited for Christmas though!  It's without a doubt my favorite, favorite time of year!
I was extremely excited when I started hearing Christmas songs on the radio!  Christmas music always puts me in a cheery, happy mood.
So today I wanted to share my top 10 favorite Christmas/Holiday songs!

What are your favorite holiday songs?

Sunday Snapshot [11.25.12]

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving filled with food, family, and of course some football!
Since Thanksgiving just passed, I thought I would share what I'm thankful for today.

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for my family.
My parents do so much to ensure that I have the best life possible and love me unconditionally.
I'm super lucky to have them in my life.
And although my sister and I don't always get along, I couldn't ask for a better best friend.
She always thinks of me, and is super fun to hang with.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Sunday Snapshot [11.4.12]

{how i spent my days in the dark & cold: glamming up some old drink coasters, lighting candles, and reading}

I don't think anyone predicted how bad Hurricane Sandy was going to be.
It's crazy how one storm can affect the lives of so many people forever.

I just regained power and heat yesterday and spent today recovering and cleaning up around the house.
But losing power for a week is nothing compared to the thousands of people who lost everything.
Now that I finally got power back, I was able to see images of the Jersey Shore and Staten Island online and it's devastating to hear all the stories of the lost lives and lost homes.
The boardwalk where I hold so many childhood memories is completely destroyed, floating in the ocean somewhere at this point.  The beach, where I spend my summer days, gone.

I have family in both Staten Island and down the shore who were both greatly affected by the storm.
My cousins in Staten Island lost everything.  Their home, belongings, everything.
Down the shore, my cousins were lucky enough to get minimal damage but returned home to find neighbor's boats, couches, and debris on their front lawn.

I live in a suburban town in New Jersey, about an hour away from the Jersey Shore and 20 minutes away from New York City.
The night of the storm there were power lines coming down, trees falling everywhere, and many fires.
But nothing compared to the thousands left without places to stay.

There are may ways that you can help Sandy victims.
- Donate through the Red Cross or through iTunes
- Give blood
- Shop - if you are in the city, Barneys is donating10% of all purchases today to relief efforts ending today
- Donate clothes, gloves, blankets, toiletries

These next fews months are probably going to be really tough for a lot of people.
We'll make it through this.

xoxo
