Sunday Snapshot [9.30.12]

It's crazy to think that September is over.
I'm super excited for fall though!  The weather is finally starting to cool down into the 70s and I'm breaking my sweaters and boots out!
The transition from summer to school has been really tough!  I was so not ready for the amount of work this year.  Between writing papers, studying for SATs and afters school clubs and volunteering - I feel like there isn't enough time in a day.
I'll stop complaining now and show you what I've been up to lately!

Puppy Gia sleeping.

Saw this shirt at Bloomies!  Too cute.

A little DIY I'm working on.

Fall boots (& DD iced coffee!)

Today it was absolutely beautiful outside!

Made a computer model out of play dough for school - made me feel like a kid again!

Hope you have a great week!

Vests!

Vests are perfect for the fall weather because it will keep you warm, but it isn't a full jacket.  Also you can still wear a cute outfit underneath and it won't be completely covered like when you wear a jacket!  Lately I've been seeing a lot of pictures of outfits on tumblr incorporating vests!

                                      {picture}                                                           {picture}

I love the layering in the first picture.  I've reblogged this photo on tumblr numerous times!  I'm obsessed with the sweatshirt under the vest.
The second picture isn't as casual as the first, but is equally as cute!  I really love the sweater, with the oxford, and the vest.

These J.Crew Quilted Vests are beyond perfect!  I literally want one in every color.  I think the neutral colors are great because you can wear them with so much.  On the other hand, the bright pink is the perfect pop of color for any outfit!

Land's End also has a great vest in many color options!  If you are looking for a brighter color vest, I think this one is perfect!  I really love the cobalt blue and beet color!

Lastly, this Ralph Lauren Quilted Vest is absolutely beautiful with faux suede trim (and also on sale!)!

Do you have a vest?  How would you wear one of these?

Living Social - ILY Couture

I love the affect a statement necklace can have on an outfit.  Accessories can take an outfit from ehh to wow.  The J.Crew bubble necklaces have been super popular over the past few months, but the hefty price tag of $150 has held back many people, including me, from purchasing one.
Looking at similar styles online, ILY Couture has come up many times in my quest for finding a similar statement necklace to the J.Crew style.  They have a great section of statement necklaces in an array of colors!
Today on Living Social they have a deal where you pay $16 (a $49 value!) for any statement necklace off their website.  68% savings back into your pocket.  It's an offer that I see can't be passed up!  Here are a few of my favorite necklaces on ILY Couture's website!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The 5-Minute Makeup Look

Getting ready for school in the morning is always a rush for me.
Late nights studying usually result in being completely sleepy in the morning.
I set my alarm for 6, but usually don't get out of bed until about 6:45, leaving me with 30 minutes to get ready for school.  I've learned how to apply makeup quickly so I have enough time to get dressed, eat a brisk breakfast and throw my stuff in my backpack.
Here is my 5-minute make up look!
1. After washing my face and applying moisturizer (both very important!) I use the Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-Hr Perfecting Primer to minimize my huge pores!
2. Then I use my Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in Light/Medium which I have been absolutely loving!  It's light but gives enough coverage for an everyday look.  If my skin is having a bad day, then I add just a little concealer.
3. Then I use a little bit of Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil to absorb oils and set the BB cream.
4. Next I use Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot to add a little color.
5. Now onto the eyes, I use the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Stingray.
6. Then add just a coat of Maybelline MegaPlush Mascara to make my eyelashes look fuller!
7. And to finish it up, I just use some Maybelline Baby Lip ChapStick!

What do you use in your everyday makeup look?

Update!

So I haven't posed on here in awhile just because I was so unprepared for the amount of work that comes with junior year of high school.  I've been doing nothing but homework and studying for the past week.  I'm definately struggling in finding a way to balance school work with after school activities and blogging!  I promise by next week I'll be back on a posting schedule!
With the ten minutes between school and the start of homework, I've gotten to see a few of the NYFW shows online and I absolutely love what I've seen so far!  I wanted to share some of the my favorite looks!
