Fourth of July Fashion

Fourth of July has always been one of my favorite holidays.  It's kind of the holiday that starts summer for me.  I love having BBQs with friends and family and watching the fireworks together.
While I don't go all out for the Fourth, I do try to incorporate some red, white, and blue into my outfit!  Whether it be colorful nails, or a striped navy top - I try to put some spirit into my outfit.

A leather cuff is a must have in my closet.  I love this Tory Burch navy blue one!
I love this Forever 21 dress.  It comes in both a blue and red color and couldn't be more perfect for the festive holiday!
Red has always been one of my favorite nail colors - this Butter London shade {Knees Up} is one of my favorites!
This tank from Brandy Melville is super cute and wearable!  I would wear this with some denim shorts and flat sandals for fireworks with my fam.
I love, love, love this swimsuit!  The top and bottoms together are super girly and appropriate for a poolside BBQ.
Lastly, these flag printed shorts are a little out of my comfort zone, but they are really adorable and could look cute when styled appropriately.

Summer Inspiration

I just got back from a short trip to Tennessee today so that is why I haven't updated this past week.  Tennessee was beautiful, but I am so glad to be back in New Jersey! It was quite the experience going to the south and being surrounding by nothing but trees and farm animals.
Anyway, Summer officially began last week, which is so exciting! Here is just some summer inspiration until tomorrow.

June Birchbox

I received my June Birchbox last week but haven't gotten a chance to write this post with finishing projects for school and studying for finals!
But I'm super excited to share with you what I received in my Birchbox this month!
First, for those of you who are unfamiliar with Birchbox, it's a $10 monthly subscription filled with beauty samples.
This month's theme was all about jet setting and included products you could use during long flights and carry-on essentials.  With it being summer and the end of school, I thought this theme was completely appropriate.  Here's what I got in my box:

As a lifestyle extra, Birchbox included these amazing 'Cynthia Rowley Dress Up Band-Aids'.  They are super chic and almost too pretty to use!
I also received a sample size of 'theBalm cosmetics Stainiac in Beauty Queen'.  It's a two-in-one lip and cheek stain that came in a rosy red color.  The formula is super unique - it's like a jelly.  It offers a subtle wash of color - perfect for summer!

Next, a 'Scalisi Skincare Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30' was put into my box.  It's a daily moisturizer that triggers collagen production and reverses wrinkles.  Since I don't really need a anti-aging product right now, I gave this to my mom.
I also received a 'Borghese Botanico Eye Compress' which was exactly what I needed this week.  I used it yesterday after my last test and my eyes felt so much better after leaving them on for ten minutes!

I've never found a tinted moisturizer that I really like, however this one came close to being one I would buy.  The 'Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint' offers a bright dewey complexion, however I like tinted moisturizers that have a little more coverage.  I would say this one has a medium-light coverage.  I had such high expectations from seeing this award-winning tinted moisturizer in magazines and on websites everywhere however it's not really for me.
Lastly, as another extra, there was the 'John Varvatos Star USA' cologne sample.  It smells nice, but both myself and my dad weren't crazy about it.  It was a nice little extra to throw in for Father's Day.

What are your traveling beauty essentials?

Summer Essentials

I took my last final today and am so excited about the start of summer! It feels beyond crazy to be done with my sophomore year of high school.  I'm looking forward to spending this summer with friends and family and just really taking some time to relax after this stressful year.
There are a few things I turn to every summer aka my summer essentials.  These are the few things I use and wear constantly during the warm months!

1.  It's so important to stay hydrated in the summer!  Having a cute tumbler to put water in helps remind me to drink enough water every day.
2.  I absolutely love J.Crew 'Chino Shorts'!  They are super comfortable and come in just about every color one could want.
3.  A chic pair of sunglasses is completely necessary to protect your eyes as well as add as a perfect accessory to your outfit!  I love the mix of colors in the pair above.
4.  I love wearing bright nail polishes in the summer.  This coral-red color is super fun and flirty!
5.  I love using straw tote bags during the summer to put all my stuff in.  The stripes on this one make it super unique.
6.  Last but not least, a pair of sandals are key to any summer outfit.  I always turn to Sam Edelman for a pair that can easily transition from a casual setting to a little more of a nicer one.  The neutral color of this pair is perfect!

What are your summer essentials?

Rompers

I have completely mixed feelings about rompers.  On one hand, I think they look really cute when accessorized right and are the perfect outfit in one.  But then some can look awkward and are such a hassle to take off when you need to use the restroom.  I really like wearing these out at night with wedges as an alternative to a dress.  Or I like to sport them during the day with flat sandals and with a casual fedora.  A romper is a piece that can be super versatile in one's closet.  My favorite of the ones below is definitely the hot pink one.  First it's pink.  It also has super cute side cut-outs as well as a tulip back - what more could you ask for?  With some chunky jewelry and a pair of wedges, you are ready for a girls night out!
