Sunday Snapshot [1.29.2012]

Hi Everyone!  I cannot believe it's the end of January already.  Honestly, this month went by way too fast.  Sometimes it's mind-blowing to me how fast time goes by.  The weather has been super warm for January lately making me want spring to come so much faster!  I've literally been looking at spring clothing and nail polish all week!  I'm so excited to be able to wear sandals and bright colors again!  Here are just some of the things I've been eyeing this week.

Marc Jacobs makes the cutest shoes!

Stocking up on stripes for spring!

This top is way too cute!

This was my favorite look from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture show!

This collection of Chanel bags is beyond real.

Have a fabulous week!

Clothes 4 Souls

I recently discovered this website, sevenly.com, which sells different tees each week to benefit a non-profit organization.  This week, a portion of the proceeds from every shirt purchased will go towards providing children in Bolivia with clothes.  The charity, Clothes 4 Souls distributes clothes to those who are living in poverty.

I went onto the organization's website because I was really intrigued by their mission and the statistics shown in their movie clip.  It shared that the average American discards 68 pounds of clothing per year as well as that over 85% of all clothing purchased ends up in our landfills.  These numbers are completely shocking to me.
Being someone who is a clothes hoarder, I definitely have some stuff that I don't wear anymore.  Knowing that someone else needs clothes, and I have something I can give to them, makes me want to do something about these statistics.
I feel like if everyone did a little something to help others, there wouldn't be as many people homeless, starving, and struggling.  To me, just doing the smallest, little, thing such as giving a few items of clothes, makes me feel good because I know that in some way, I'm helping better someone's life.
You don't have to buy this t-shirt to help benefit the cause. There are numerous other ways to help this cause.

To check out the organization and find out how you can make a difference, please go to clothes4souls.org.

Style Mint

I have been completely obsessing over Stylemint, which as I'm sure many of you know, is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's membership-only line of tees.  Just the quality and fit alone are absolutely amazing along with the fact that they are completely adorable!  With tees in so many styles and colors, there is definitely a shirt for everyone.  A classic cut t-shirt is definitely a wardrobe staple that everyone needs.  These are so versatile and can be worn with so many things!

My favorites:

1. Hudson [in charcoal/black]
I would wear this shirt with leggings and motorcycle boots with a leather jacket to edge it up more. A bright purse, such as red, would add the perfect pop of color to a seemingly all black outfit.

2.  Lenox [in black/white]
I love how they styled this tee in the picture above.  I would probably wear it in a similar way with a cardigan over it and some black flats.

3. Venice [in party pink stripe]
I love the color combination in this shirt!  Since the shirt is super bright, I would wear it with black jeans or leather pants to let the top be statement.

Sunday Snapshot [1.22.2012]

I've been studying like a crazy person all week for midterms!  They are finally over tomorrow and I honestly cannot wait.  Oh the temperature dropped to 20 this weekend and it snowed! It's a winter wonderland outside!  And then tomorrow its supposed to be 50 and rainy.  Like the weather couldn't be any more bipolar.  Okay sorry this was all kind of random...my head hurts so much from studying, I'm honestly struggling puting sentences together.  Have a great week!

This sequin sweater is gorgeous!

This outfit is actually kinda adorable.

True statement.

Demi is such a great role model and inspiration!

Let's Getaway...

"A vacation is what you take when you can no longer take what you've been taking."
-- Earl Wilson

My brain feels like its literally about to explode from the amount of studying I have been doing.  I'm pretty sure that's not normal.  I can't help but to think about February vacation coming up.  Just going to a warmer place is all I covet.  The sand, the sun.  It feels like its so far away!  While nothing can make it come sooner, there's no harm in looking for things to wear!

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Shailene Woodly in Marchesa

Charlize Theron in Dior

Zooey Deschanel in Prada

Michele Williams in Jason Wu

Sunday Snapshot [1.15.2012]

I'm so looking forward to the start of a new week!  Although midterms start this week, I have a feeling that this week will me much better than last.  I'm really excited for the Golden Globes tonight!  I cannot wait to see what everyone is wearing!  Also Gossip Girl starts again tomorrow which I am beyond happy about!  Anyway, here's what I've been looking at all week.

I completely adore this outfit!

Can't wait for the feeling of warm sun!

I would so wear this sequined blazer.

Can't wait any longer to see Blair's wedding!

Peoples Choice Awards 2012

I honestly cannot wait for this week to be over.  I had about seven tests this week, four of them being today.  So last night I got a little glimpse of the 2012 People's Choice Awards in between my all night studying.  I made it just in time for Demi Lovato's performance which was absolutely amazing!  Anyway, today I looked through the pictures from the red carpet and there was a big range in what everyone was wearing.  So happy for the awards season to be starting.  I absolutely droll over the dresses that celebs get to wear.  Here are my hits and misses of the night.

Love
1. Demi Lovato in Marchesa
I love the peachy color of this dress.  I am such a huge fan of Demi, (so this is slightly bias) but I think she is absolutely stunning in this one!  She looks so happy and healthy.
2. Chloe Mortez in Proenza Schouler
I really love the color and the material of this dress.  I also think that this look is completely appropriate for a 14-year old.  It's so simple yet the cut and color really stood out to me.

3. Kaley Cuoco in Badgley Mischka (SS 2012)
This dress is just absolutely stunning.  The craftsmanship and detail in this dress makes it a true piece of art.  I love the color and the fit on her.  This was completely perfect for the host to wear on the red carpet.  Definitely one of my top favorites of the night!

4. Emma Stone in Gucci
Besides winning an award at the People's Choice, I think she may have just won the best look of the night award from me.  I just love Emma Stone and I think this outfit just shows how amazing her style is.  The color of the jacket is kind of amazing!

Like
1.  Lucy Hale in Gengiz Abazoglu
I really like the top half, but the piece of fabric on the side is kind of throws the dress off balance in my eye.  I like how different it is and the risk she took in choosing this one.

2.  Jennifer Goodwin in Roksanda Ilincic
I think this color is so amazing and the sleeves are adorable!  I would have liked a different shoe though.

3. Ashley Greene in DKNY
I love the lacey/leather mix but something is off.  I don't know if its the turtleneck or the sleeves.  The idea is really nice though and I do think it was completely different than anything everyone else wore.

Loathe
1. Vanessa Hudgens in Jenny Packham
Something about the neckline really bothers me.  However I do like the idea.

2. Lea Michele in Marchesa
I have a love/hate relationship with this look.  I love how different it is and how glamorous it looks on her, but then every time I look at it, it reminds me of a mop.  I don't even know what else to say about this...
3. Miley Cyrus in David Koma
Okay, so I don't completely hate this look.  I just don't like it.  It looks like two completely dresses from the front and back.  And the front isn't very flattering on her.  But I do like her man accessory (;

Fifth Ave at New Years

My best friend and I have a tradition of going to the city New Years day every year.  It's our way to celebrate the end of the holiday season and get a last look at the displays around town.  I took so many pictures on my phone like a tourist because it's kind of impossible not to at this time of year.  We also had the chance to go to Gaga's Workshop at Barneys yesterday!  Although I am not a huge fan of her, it was  a really bright, fun room filled with so many goodies from candy to jewelry.  Then our sisters went to Niketown to design shoes, we had lunch, and window-shopped while walking down Fifth Avenue.  It was definitely the perfect way to start the new year!

Tiffany's definitely had one of the best displays this year!
