Update!

So I haven't posed on here in awhile just because I was so unprepared for the amount of work that comes with junior year of high school.  I've been doing nothing but homework and studying for the past week.  I'm definately struggling in finding a way to balance school work with after school activities and blogging!  I promise by next week I'll be back on a posting schedule!
With the ten minutes between school and the start of homework, I've gotten to see a few of the NYFW shows online and I absolutely love what I've seen so far!  I wanted to share some of the my favorite looks!

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 Collection

My favorite looks from the show.

Roberto Cavalli has always been one of my favorite Italian designers.  I am an avid follower of his blog, and love him more and more every day.  He is extremely creative, knows how to make clothes that every woman wants, and his shows never disappoint.  He always leaves me in astonishment of how his ideas come together.  His fall collection was no exception.  The mix of patterns and textures came together in a way that if any other designer put them out, wouldn't work.  His collection had a very rock-in-roll, party scene kind of feel to it, which I absolutely adore.  From the sequins to the hems, every detail of his work in impeccable.  I loved the use of animal print and fur in this collection, as it complemented the bright colors.  In short, the collection was an alluring representation of who Roberto Cavalli is and what his brand stands for.

Happy Start of Fashion Week!

Hi everyone!  I swear every time I tried to blog the past two weeks, my internet wouldn't work - causing a slight absence from blogging.  However it's more steady now which is great because I would be going crazy if my internet didn't work during fashion week.
Anyway, I'm super excited to see all the collections this week! I love the fall collections more than spring just because of the fabrics and layering. I also love love love outerwear for some strange reason.  Fashion week is the perfect way to end what feels like the longest week ever.  I just wanted to share my favorite looks from the day to kick off this fabulous week!

NYFW: Spring 2012 Part 2

Friday September 9th
Peter Som

Luca Luca
I love this collection!  From the first look to the last, there were maybe two or three looks that I wouldn't wear!  The cuts were really cute and I loved the use of prints.  The floral print in the beginning is definitely my favorite.  I also really liked the streaks of color in the model's hair!  My favorite look in this show would probably have to be the zebra printed bandeau top with the little shorts and blue jacket, so adorable!

Another amazing collection, was filled with bows, prints, and feathers!  I adored those little shorts and the bow tie collars and belts.  The color scheme in this collection was a little more muted than others but the details and cuts definitely made up for it!  This cobalt blue color seen in the printed dress blow is going to be really in for spring since it's been seen in so many collections so far this week.  My favorite look by far in this collection is the ensemble at the bottom with the pink peplum skirt!

Nicole Miller - RTW
The Nicole Miller ready to wear collection showcased dresses and separates with bold prints and bright colors.  It was defiantly one of the more fun shows.  I loved the geometric prints and color combinations.  The stripes were also one part of the show that I very much enjoyed!

I really enjoyed this show!  I adored the cuts of the dresses.  The dresses and pants fit the models so perfectly.  The prints were really nice, and I absolutely loved the cutout details in some of the pieces.  I am definitely going to have to pick up something like it in the spring time!

NYFW: Spring 2012 Part 1

I've been complete busy with the start of school, soccer, and homework.  However, I have made time to look at a few of the collections shown at New York Fashion Week!  So I'll start off by saying happy fashion week!  I'm really looking forward to seeing all the looks created by designers for Spring 2012.  I've been keeping my twitter feed open all week to see what all the industry insiders have to say about the collections, and they have been saying quite wonderful things!
I went into the city on Monday and went to Lincon Center to see the tents being put up!  It's such a magical place!  I cannot imagine all the celebrities and magazine editors walking through there and into the tents.  Another huge fashion event this week was Fashion's Night Out!  I wasn't able to attend this year because of soccer practice, however a lot of my friends went and said it was fabulous!  They met and saw a lot of celebrities and designers as well as did some shopping!
Anyway, I wanted to put a post up showing you all a few of my favorite collections shown so far.  I plan on posting 3 or 4 more posts like this as the week finishes.  So I'll just get right into it and start off with the show that began this amazing week!

Thursday September 8th
Nicholas K.
This show was the perfect one to start off the week!  I loved the color scheme, mostly whites, gray-blues, and army green.  The overall feeling felt very bohemian with tie dyes as well as a bit military.  The sheer, flowey fabrics moved beautifully down the runway.  My favorite look in this collection would be the teal colored one down below with the cut-out shoulders - they are something I am completely obsessed with right now!

I love how the first look sent down the runway was a bright color.  It definately set the mood for the rest of the show.  The color for me was the best part of the show.  Another thing I absoltely adored was the cut-out shoulders in a number of the dresses!  They are definately going to be big for spring.  And for this collection, my favorite piece would have to be the navy jumper. The paneling, color, and shoulders are just perfect!

I am going to post another one either tonight or tomorrow morning with pictures and comments on yesterday's shows!
