Favorite Winter Beauty Products

With winter in full swing, it's the time of year when my skin completely freaks out and becomes a huge problem.  In dealing with the unpredictabilities my skin is capable of, there are a few products I wouldn't be able to get through these long, cold months without.

Favorite Winter Beauty Products

I have a problem when it comes to lip products.  I have at least two chapsticks/lip-glosses in my pockets at all times.  I go through tubes of Baby Lips like no other.  Hands-down, they're my favorite drug store product.  I'm also obsessed with Sugar lip tints.  They're super moisturizing and the tinted ones give the perfect amount of color.  If you're looking for a gloss, Clarins Lip Perfector is my favorite.  For an over-night treatment, C.O. Bigelow balm is amazing.  You go to bed with dry, cracked lips and when you wake up, they're, like BeyoncĂ© would say, flawless.

It's not until the cold dry months of winter that I realize how amazing my Clinique moisturizer is.  There's a reason it's a cult favorite - it works.  In addition to my daily moisturizer, sometimes I need a little something extra for dry patches.  First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Concentrate treatment works wonders.  It's magic in a jar.

Another great overnight product is Origins Drink-Up Intensive mask.  A weekly mask can make a huge difference in your skin.

Dry, frizzy hair is never a good look.  For as long as I can remember I've used Aussie's 3-Minute Miracle hair mask.  It always leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth.

I go back to the arctic (State College, PA) next week and you can bet that I will be brining every one of these products back with me.

Three Outfits for Winter Activities

I have completely mixed feelings about the winter.  I always say it's my favorite season, however after awhile, all I can think about is how nice it would be if it were summer.
This week, New Jersey is experiencing extremely low temperatures (below zero with the windchill!).  It's supposed to warm up over the weekend, but then go back down!

But there are some great things about the Winter season: the holidays, seasonal drinks, and festive decorations.

One of my favorite things to do is meet friends and family for coffee, especially now with all the seasonal drinks out!  I really love how this striped Forever 21 sweater looks with an all black outfit and think it would be perfect for meeting with the girls.

Next, ice skating is something that I only usually do with my friends around Christmas time.  We have an indoor ice skating rink near our town, so we can go any time of the year.  But there is just something more fun about going during the holiday time.  For this occasion, I would wear a flannel with these cable-knit leggings and a cozy scarf to keep warm!

Lastly, there is nothing more magical than New York City at Christmas time.  It's my favorite time of year to see the sights and go shopping.  However, sometimes it can be miserable walking around.  I love this Ted Baker jacket, it's both functional and fashionable.  And the touch of maroon in with the gloves and scarf add the perfect amount of color.

What are your favorite winter activities?

Party Girl! (On a Budget!)

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving and a successful Black Friday!
With Black Friday comes the start of the holiday season and with the start of the holiday season comes holiday parties!
Who doesn't love all the food, mingling, and pretty outfits a holiday party?
To make your decision of what to wear a little easier, I put together a collage of some of my favorite party pieces.
And because I know you probably spent way too much money today(it's totally okay...no judgement here), everything on this list is UNDER $100!

Dry Lips, Pale Face

Besides these being lyrics to an amazing Ed Sheeran song, dry lips and a pale, dry face are my two main problems right now.
Winter does absolutely terrible things to my skin.
From chapped lips to a less than perfect complexion, my skin looks like a war zone.
Here is a guide of my favorite products to get you through the rough winter months!

For the lips...

For the skin...
1. Origins Modern Friction
2. Clinique Moisture Surge
3. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Concentrate

What do you use to combat rough winter skin?

Fall Dresses

I love wearing dresses during the summer since they are super easy to throw on and to keep cool.
However I always have a hard time figuring out how to wear them during the colder months.
Tights are usually what I turn to when trying to put an outfit together with a dress during the fall.
There are endless colors and textures, so there is always a pair to wear with a dress.
I also feel that wearing a dress during the colder weather allows you to play with layering and try different combinations of shirts, jackets, and accessories.
Here's how I would wear these dresses!

Outfit 1: I plan on going out and buying a chambray shirt dress ASAP!  I love the creamy scarf and burgundy tights to add some fall colors to this outfit.

Outfit 2: This outfit is casual, but can be worn out to dinner with friends at night with a pair of heels.  Love the all black ensemble, with the blue/black tweed jacket!
