Spring 2012 Wishlist

Happy spring!  I'm so excited/slightly sad {but more excited!} to put away my thick sweaters and boots for the upcoming seasons!  This week has been super warm: high 70s, low 80s!  It's a huge jump from just being in the 50s, but much needed.  This spring, I'm looking forward to wearing bright colors as well as bringing out my favorite pastel colors.  The spring is the perfect time to experiment with color and wear one you usually wouldn't. And that is exactly what I'm coveting for spring: color!

1. Stella McCartney Long-Sleeve Minidress
2. Michael Michael Kors 'Ikat print silk-blend Pant'3. Topshop 'Squiggle Sequin Dress'
4. Sperry Top-Sider Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe in Twill in 'Neon Azaela'

5. NastyGal.com 'Eden Leather Sachel"
6. Dannijo 'Hixon Bib Necklace'
7. Sprout Watches Colorful Bracelet Watch in Green

What are you looking forward to most this spring?

Candies at Kohl's

I've never really been one to find much a Kohls, but recently after seeing the Candie's ad in numerous magazines, I found some perfect pieces to add into any spring wardrobe!  I love Lea Michele as their new face.  She looks absolutely stunning in the ad, and I think, does a better job of wearing the clothes than Britney Spears.  These are a few of my favorite pieces from their spring collection!

The color-block combo of red and pink was huge on the spring runway!  This dress combines the two colors beautifully.

I absolutely love the print of this dress.  It's perfect for any getaway or even just those lazy days in the summer.  The only thing I would do is swap the belt.

There is nothing I love more than a black and white print.  These shorts are so adorable and will look great paired with a little touch of neon.

I love, love, love anything fringe!  This bathing suit is super cute and a steal compared to the L*Space version.

Although these shoes are a little crazy, I really love the color and print.  I saw a pair very, very similar at Steve Madden, and kind of fell in love with them.

Looking Forward to Spring!

Literally all I have been doing has been looking at spring clothes.  The obsession I have with pastels right now is defiantly at an unhealthy level.  Stores are starting to lay out all their spring clothes and I honestly cannot get enough.  Looking at spring clothes has been my consuming my time for the past week.  Here are a few things that I will definitely be adding to my spring wardrobe!

1. Pastel colored denim (or basically anything pastel!)
Pastels just scream spring to me.  I love this lilac pair from The Gap.  The lilac hugh  will soften any outfit, making it perfect for the beautiful upcoming months.

2.  Light wash cropped denim
I love a laid-back look with light denim.  A light wash can definitely make an outfit look more casual.  I absolutely adore the length on this pair from Rag & Bone.  It would look amazing with a light sweater and some wedges!

3.  Neon Jewels
I've seriously been drooling over neon jewelry.  I'm usually not the one to wear neon; however I feel like a punch of bright color can make an outfit.  This necklace (which also comes in neon pink!) from Bauble Bar is just beyond words and needs to get into my life.

4. Pleated skirts
Pleats are so feminine and pleated skirts are so ladylike.  I love this look with a white blouse and some heels.  I am crazy about this color blocked option from Aqua!

5. Crisp white blazers
I saw this Rag & Bone blazer online and immediately thought of so many things I could wear it with!  The beautiful ivory-cream color is perfect for spring to throw over a little dress or casually with jeans.

Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 Collection

My favorite looks from the show.

Roberto Cavalli has always been one of my favorite Italian designers.  I am an avid follower of his blog, and love him more and more every day.  He is extremely creative, knows how to make clothes that every woman wants, and his shows never disappoint.  He always leaves me in astonishment of how his ideas come together.  His fall collection was no exception.  The mix of patterns and textures came together in a way that if any other designer put them out, wouldn't work.  His collection had a very rock-in-roll, party scene kind of feel to it, which I absolutely adore.  From the sequins to the hems, every detail of his work in impeccable.  I loved the use of animal print and fur in this collection, as it complemented the bright colors.  In short, the collection was an alluring representation of who Roberto Cavalli is and what his brand stands for.

NYFW Fall 2012 Favorites

With fashion week coming to an end :( [sad face], I thought it would be time to share with you my favorite looks and shows of the week!  Just a warning: it's pretty long.

Alexander Wang - Simple pieces in a dark, edgy way.

Anna Sui - I always look forward to her show.  The colors are so vibrant and so unexpected for fall.

Badgley Mischka - Always one of the most beautiful shows of fashion week.

Betsey Johnson - She always has so much with with the styling of her clothes.  The first pink ensemble one reminds me of something Barbie would wear - I absolutely  love it!

Carmen Marc Valvo - I love the big fluffy vest!

Carolina Herrera - This dress is so beautiful.  I love the black bow belt!

Christian Siriano -  He is such a talented designer!  I love the edgy leather moto jacket over the dress.

Charlotte Ronson - Everything from her collection is so wearable.  The prints in this collection are perfect to go with solid tights.

Derek Lam - I love the cable-knit sweater over the skirt.  The color is beautiful.

Diane von Furstenberg - I love how she makes clothes that every woman would want to wear.  The colors in her collection were beautiful.

Doo.Ri - I love the wrapping of fabrics in this collection.

DKNY - This collection truly captures the New York woman.  I loved just about every piece!

Herve Leger - I love the fringe on this number.  Super edgy with the leather-like pants.

J.Mendel - He never disappoints.  I would wear any of these dresses in a heartbeat.

Jason Wu - Obsessed.  One of my favorite collections from the whole week.   The fur and peplums with capes and prints.  It had everything and was just amazing.

Jenny Packham - I really enjoyed the mix of feminine and edgy pieces.  I really loved the makeup as well.

Lacoste - This collection was definitely very sporty.  I really appreciate the simplicity of this look.  The jacket looks nicely constructed.

Milly by Michele Smith - I really loved the cobalt blue used in the beginning.  Then there were pops of pink (which were flawless), and then ended with some leather.  It was the perfect combination.

Monique Lhuillier - This collection was another one my top three favorites.  I can't even describe how much I loved the pants, embellished blouses, and dragon-red color.

Nanette Lepre - I really love the mix of red and gold in this look.  The gold definitely makes the red stand out.

Nicole Miller - I found delight in the mix of pieces in this collection.  I like how it went from a very Bohemian look all the way to edgy.  Love it!

Peter Som - Peplums!  Everywhere.  And I have a weakness for them.  They just make everything look more fashion forward.

Rachel Zoe - Literally I want every single piece in this collection in my closet.  It's so wearable and everything is so perfect.  Rachel Zoe defiantly knows how to style outfits because these looks look beyond amazing.  Another top three!

Rachel Roy - I love how she isn't afraid to use color.  I particularly love the fur coat with the magenta and orange.

Ralph Lauren - This show was definitely dominated by suits.  But I really liked the fabrics and the styling of this collection.  The jewelry definitely helped make the clothes look more current.

Rebecca Taylor - I love Rebecca Taylor clothing in general.  They are so wearable and so well constructed.  I loved the layering that was going on during this show.

Rodarte - I love this chunky cardigan over this dress!  The burnt color of it is so unique!

St. John - I always love looking at St. John clothing.  They are like pieces of art.  The fabrics used are impeccable.

Thakoon - This is my favorite look from this collection.  I really like the look of a tee shirt with a more dressy skirt.  I've completely been loving the color combination of red and pink!

Tory Burch - I really loved this collection more than any others of her.  It defiantly had an element to it that reminded me a little of Chanel.  My favorite look was the white one above.  The chunky sweater with the skirt and leather gloves = perfection.

Tracey Reese - I really loved the cut of the red jacket above.  And I really want that dress  - top combination.  It would be perfect for a party!

Vivienne Tam - I love love love whatever that big piece of fur is on the look to the left.  It definitely makes a statement.  And I find the dress to the right really interesting to look out.  I can't exactly figure out how or what it's made of.

Whitney Eve - I'm a huge The Hills fan so I've been following Whitney Port's fashion career for awhile.  She had defiantly grown as a designer and I think this collection shows that.

Zac Posen - Last but certainly not least, I really liked this Asian-inspired collection.  This look was my favorite - navy with a splash of orange is beautiful!

ps.  I will be away for the next week so there won't be any new posts until next week.  Have a nice week!
