I'm Back! {Summer in Spain}

Hola everyone!
Lo siento (Sorry) that I've been MIA for the past three weeks as I did a summer program in Spain and had VERY limited wi-fi access!
But I'm back and will be posting more regularly now!

Spain was absolutely amazing.  It was my first time traveling to Europe, so I wasn't sure really what to expect. However, the beauty of Spain exceeded my expectations.
I spent most of my three weeks in Barcelona taking Spanish and photography classes and did weekend trips to Madrid and Girona.
The people there were so nice, the food was delicious, and the buildings and architecture was exquisite.
I made lifelong friends all while soaking in the culture and improving my Spanish.
The Spanish culture is absolutely amazing and I had such an amazing time in the city.
It was an experience I'll never forget and I can't wait to return to Barcelona.

Summer 2013 'To-Do' List

I swear by 'To-Do' lists.
I make lists for everything: school, shopping, errands.
There is no better feeling than accomplishing everything on a list.
They make sure you stay on track and complete everything that needs to be done.
In this case, I've made a summer 'to-do' list of everything I want to do!

Summer officially starts for me Wednesday after school.
However in my mind it has started weeks ago.
I can't wait to have few cares, spend time with friends, and finally get some sleep!
I'm hoping to make this summer really great!

DIY Glitter Glasses

Sorry for the little hiatus of posts, but last week was finals week!
Now that it's finally over, I can now get some sleep and think about stuff other than World War 2 and Calculus.

Over the weekend I did a little room cleaning/organizing, and I realized I needed a better place to put my hair ties and clips instead of just scattered around my room.
Since I already glittered my brush holder on my dresser, I thought I would also glitter a little glass bowl I purchased to throw my hair ties in.

So if you're looking for a little way to glam up you glass containers, this is the perfect DIY for you!

Let's start with what you need.
- Mod Podge
- A glass (container, jar, etc.)
- Glitter
- Sponge (or paintbrush)

And the rest is pretty easy!
Just apply a thin layer of Mod Podge with

Then cover in some glitter and violá, you have a sparkly glass!

Just let it dry for a few hours and it's ready to use!

Have you ever glittered anything?

"One in Ten Americans Is a Shopaholic" via The Cut

I found this article last week and I thought it was really interesting!
It's about a survey that was conducted by CouponCabin.com which found that one in ten Americans is a "shopaholic".

Every time I hear the word "shopaholic" the first thing I think of is the book series by Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic and fear that one day I'll become like Rebecca. Which by the way, if you haven't read this series, I completely recommend it!

Anyway, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one who likes to shop.
Lately I've been trying to not spend so much money, but with all the great sales and new cute summer stuff out, it's been difficult.
Online shopping is defiantly a weakness for me.  It's just way too easy to plug in a bunch of numbers online and pay for new clothes.
I guess this is true for a lot of other people too considering that 11% of Americans consider themselves "shopaholics" according to the article.

Marketing these days is so clever that it makes shopping almost a mindless experience.  For me, I don't always really think my purchases through until after I get home.
In my personal finance class at school we were just learning about how to be a smart shopper.
So I thought that I would share some tips on how to be a better consumer!
Here are a few things you should do before and while shopping:

1. Create a budget - if you set a limit on how much you want to spend during a time period, you will be less likely to make extravagant purchases.
2. Only buy things that you really need and will use - okay, so we are all guilty of buying things that we never wear or use, right?  Try and avoid this mistake by asking yourself if you really need it or if you just really want it and if you are really going to use it.
3. Shop sales - instead of purchasing that sweater at full price, try waiting two more weeks until it goes on sale.  This can save you a lot f money!

Waterproof Makeup

I always like to go a little lighter on the make up during the summer.
I'm not completely comfortable going out with no make up on, however I like to go with as little as possible.
Between sweating from the heat and swimming in the pool, there are a lot of factors that can play a role in your makeup coming off during the summer months.
Luckily, there are numerous waterproof cosmetic products that can help beat these irritants.
Weather your at the beach, walking around town, or working at a camp, these products will give you a natural, flawless makeup look!

Sunday Snapshot {6.9.13}

Happy 2nd birthday blog!

I started this blog two years ago when I was just about to finish freshman year of high school and now I'm almost done with my junior year.
I can't even express how much I've grown and how much as changed.  It's crazy to think how different everything can be only two years later.
Through blogging I've been able to share my thoughts and meet great people with similar interests.
I'm excited to continue this little hobby of mine and see where it goes!

Products for Perfect Nails

It's finally that time of year where you can show off your cute pedicure!
For me personally, I will not wear sandals unless my toes look somewhat decent.
However it can become very costly getting a mani-pedi every other week.

So if you can do it at home, why not?
For perfect looking nails, it's important to have the proper tools and to take care of them.
Below I put together some of my favorite products to achieve those nails that look like they were done at the salon!

1. Toe spacers, nail clippers and emory boards are essential!
2. I included the Julep nail growth serum and cuticle oil because they are great if your nails aren't in tip-top shape.  Within a few uses, your nails should be looking healthier!
3.  Lastly, here are some polish colors I'm loving.  I'm slowly starting to take off my dark nails and applying more pastels.  My favorite summer color would have to be Essie Fiji.
