Sunday Snapshot [1.24.13]

This week went by way too fast.
Let me rephrase that: this whole month went by way too fast!
Friday is March 1st.  But since when?
I'm really looking forward to Spring though!  This horrible weather is getting old and tired and I just want bright nails and sandals already!
I so enjoyed having this week off, and am not so excited to return to school tomorrow.
But there are only 4 weeks until spring break.  So the countdown beings...
In the mean time, here's what my week looked like!

The beautiful Syracuse University campus.

Crowded room at Terminal 5.

Can never leave the city without Baked by Melissa!

Have a great week!

Staycation Itinerary

While it seems that my classmates are having fun based on Instagrams of the Aruba beaches and tweets about fruity drinks on the beach, I've been enjoying my time at home.  So far, my week has consisted of college visits (actually quite fun) , Gossip Girl, and food.  But I honestly can't complain.  It's been such a long time since I've been able to relax and just do nothing.
So I made a list of things I've been doing this week and things that you can do if you're bored at home!

1. TV catch up day
These days off are perfect for catching up on all the shows you don't have time to watch anymore and re-watching your favorite episodes on Netflix.

2. Have a girls night!
Gather a few of your best friends and either spend the night in with face masks and snacks or throw on your highest heels and go out for the night!

3. Bake-a-thon
Since you're not on an island somewhere in that tiny bikini but instead bundled up in a sweater at home, why not make those cupcakes or cookies you love?

4. or... get a head start on bikini season
If you are planning on going away for spring break or just want to get a head start for summer, hit the gym or try one of these videos at home!

5. Explore your nearest city!
Travel into the city and just walk around.  Pop into stores you never been to and eat something new!

6. Mani-Pedi
Every girl needs some pampering every once in awhile right?

7. Shopping Trip
Think about all the money you are saving from not going away and treat yourself to a new pair of shoes.   Feel free to combine this with the mani-pedi above.

8. Start those DIY projects on your Pinterst board.
Remember all those projects you pinned but never had time to try?  Hit up the craft store and get to work!  Here are some on my board that I've been wanting to try - Travel Flat Iron Holder (+others!)

What do you like to do when you have time off?

Valentines Day {Girls Night-In}

So it's that dreaded time of year again for single ladies everywhere.

While many happy couples will be spending their Thursday night out to dinner with their significant other, there is no shame in spending your Valentines day on the couch with Ben and Jerry and some of your best girlfriends (because that is exactly what I will be doing.).
So for those of you who will be spending in a night in like me, here are some cute loungewear options!
Why not treat yourself to a little valentines gift?

Blizzard Nemo

Hey Tri-state area, are you ready for Nemo?

First, I would like to address how the 'blizzard' coming tomorrow is named Nemo?
I would really like to know who came up with that name.  (haha it's so random!)

Next, I am supposed to go into the city tomorrow night for a concert and as of right now, the show is still on!  I don't know how I'm going to get into the city, or more importantly out of the city when the storm is going to be at its peak!

Last, I've read so many tweets from friends who go to other schools saying "yes! no school tomorrow!" and "thank you nemo #sleepinglate", however my school has yet to take action in calling a snow day.  I really could use a day off from school.

So here is what I'll be wearing to school tomorrow.  In the snow. And sleet.  Mixed with rain.
and of course with a Starbucks in hand!

Dry Lips, Pale Face

Besides these being lyrics to an amazing Ed Sheeran song, dry lips and a pale, dry face are my two main problems right now.
Winter does absolutely terrible things to my skin.
From chapped lips to a less than perfect complexion, my skin looks like a war zone.
Here is a guide of my favorite products to get you through the rough winter months!

For the lips...

For the skin...
1. Origins Modern Friction
2. Clinique Moisture Surge
3. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Concentrate

What do you use to combat rough winter skin?
